Dr. Mohammad Ismail Hossain is a lecturer of Institute of Disaster management at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), has been in university teaching and researcher. He obtained M.Sc. degree, major in Geography and Environment, from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, in Faculty of Social Sciences, with NST funding. Dr. Hossain received his PhD in Forest policy and management under the Tokyo Human Resource Found for City Diplomacy Scholarship in the Japan from the Department of Tourism Science at Tokyo Metropolitan University, Tokyo, Japan. His PhD research project focused on Effects of Land-Related Policies on Deforestation in a Protected Area in the northeastern Bangladesh. Dr. Hossain also received substantial professional training both home and abroad on social and scientific research and survey tools which includes both qualitative and quantitative approaches, participatory methodology and GIS.
