A new undergraduate department entitled as “Textile engineering” has opened on last 05 September 2012 at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) under the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) in its letter (memo no. UGC/Admin/publ.univ./450(part-3)/03/6498 dated. 05/09/2012) gave this permission. KUET authority has decided to start the academic activities of this new department from the current academic session 2012-13 by enrolling 60 (sixty) students at undergraduate level. The admission test at KUET for the enrollment if 1^st year students will be held on November 09, 2012, Friday at 9:30am. So, this year total number of seats has increased to 725, earlier it was 665. Following this, the Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Alamgir thanked and expressed his gratitude to the UGC & MoE for giving permission to open this department.
