Closing Ceremony of the project of Library System Automation of KUET held at the University Central Library on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir present there as the Chief Guest. In a short speech he said, with completion of this project KUET moves another step forward to achieve its goals and to build Digital Bangladesh. In the field of Library System Automation KUET will be the pioneer among others. Sub-project Manager of Library system automation of KUET who is also the Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department Prof Dr. K M Azharul Hasan presided over the ceremony. Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department Dr. Tarapada Bhowmick, Head of the Department of Physics Prof. Dr. Sibendra Shekher Shikder, Professor of Electrical & Electronic Engineering Department Dr. Md. Abdur Rafiq were present as the Special Guests. Librarian Md. Akkas Uddin Pathan delivered welcome speech in the function. KUET is the only public university, in which the central library entered the full automation system. This automation was done as a part of AIF project of Higher Education Quality Enhancement project (HEQEP) under the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC). Directors, Heads of all departments, teachers, officers and staff of KUET were present in the function.
