Day long Conference on ‘Weather Forecasting and Advances in Physics: Bangladesh Perspective’ was held at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) on May 20, 2016 organized by Department of Physics with the help of Ministry of Education. Head, Quality Assurance Unit of UGC Prof. Dr. Mesbahuddin inaugurated the conference as the Chief Guest. Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir presided over the inaugural ceremony. Dr. A K M Abdul Hakim, Individual Consultant of Department of Glass and Ceramic Engineering of BUET, Prof. Dr.A. S. M. Maksud Kamal, Dean of the Faculty of Earth and Environment Sciences of DU, Prof. Dr. Md. Mahbub Alam, Dean of the Faculty of CE of KUET addressed as the Special Guests.

Convener of the Conference Prof. Dr. Md. Abdullah Elias Akhter delivered welcome address and Head of the Department of Physics Prof. Dr. shibendra Shekher Sikder made the vote of thanks.

After Inauguration Ceremony Prof. Dr. Abdul Hakim and Prof. Dr.A.S.M. Maksud Kamal delivered Keynote papers individually. Scientists, Scholars, Teachers, Academicians and others from Bangladesh were present in the Conference . In the Conference 07 sessions in which 48 Research papers were presented.
