World Town Planning Day 2016 was observed in Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) on 17 November, 2016 with rally & discussion meeting organized by the Department of Urban and Regional Planning (URP). At 11:30 a.m. teachers, students, officers, employees gathered and brought out a rally from the administrative building and paraded the whole campus and ended in front of the New Academic building led by the Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir.

Later, discussion meeting as a part of celebration the World Town Planning Day 2016 Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir was present there as the Chief Guest and delivered his valuable speech. Prof. Dr. Md. Mahbub Alam, Dean, CE Faculty, Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam, President, BIP Khulna chapter addressed as the Special Guests. Assistant Professor of the Dept. of URP Dr. Md. Manjur Morshed delivered welcome address. Tushar Kanti Ray, Assistant Professor of URP department of KUET Presented the main Paper of the discussion meeting headed ‘Observance of World Town Planning Day : (History and Significance)’. Prof. Dr. Md. Mustafa Saroar, Head, Departmen of URP presided over the discussion meeting and made the closing remarks.
