Workshop on Annual Performance Management: KUET Perspective held at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) on 20 April, Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at Distance Learning Theater. Honorable Chairman of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) Prof. Abdul Mannan was present as Chief Guest, where Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain was present as the Chair in the workshop. In his speech as Chief Guest Honorable Chairman of UGC Prof. Abdul Mannan Said, “We should carry on our country development progress by increasing our efficiency. The graduates and the researches of KUET will play important role to build better Bangladesh. We should always remember that we have liabilities to our common people of our country”. He added, “The government has increased the salary for the government employee more than double but still corruption is happening. The corruption is now a social diseases and it is swallowing us. We should change our behavior and mentality to stop it. For this reason everywhere we should need annual performance agreement and do our duties with full of morality and transparency”. Director of Private University Division of UGC Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam, Director (CC) of RSP Division of UGC Md. Omar Faruque and Joint Secretary of Administrative Division of UGC Mr. Zafor Ahommad Jahanger were present as Special Guest in the workshop. Welcome speech was delivered by the Registrar of KUET G. M. Shahidul Alam and the event was presented by the Public Relations Officer Monoj Kumar Mojumder. Papers on “Annual Performance Agreement Management System”, “Key Performance Indicator”, “MandatoryStrategic Objectives: Tool for Ensuring Governance” and “Government PerformanceManagement System: Concepts & Contents” were presented by the Senior Assistant Secretary of Cabinet Division of UGC R H M Alaol Kabir, Director of Private University Division of UGC Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam, RSP Division o UGC Md. Omar Faruque, Senior Assistant Director of UGC Mohammad Nazrul Islam respectively. Dean of Faculties, Director of Institutes, Head of Departments, Directors, Provost of Students’ Residential Halls, Professors, Head of Offices of KUET were present in the workshop.
