  • The Orientation Program of the Newly Admitted 1st year BSc Eng, BURP & BArch Students held at KUET

  • The Orientation Program of newly admitted 1st year BSc Eng, BURP & BArch students of Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) for the 2019-2020 session was held on January 23, 2020 at the student welfare centre (SWC) of the university. This year, a total of 1062 students were admitted into sixteen (16) departments of KUET. The newly admitted students and their guardians were informed about the academic procedures, rules and regulations including the registration process, examination systems, other academic matters, disciplines and co-curricular activities of KUET. Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain was present in the orientation ceremony as the Chair. He highlighted the importance of the best use of knowledge that can overcome all obstacles inspite of having some limitations of infrastructures and other recourses in the university. Vice-Chancellor also emphasized to maintain the sincerity and discipline of the students while their stay and study at KUET. Newly admitted students of undergraduate course for the 2019-2020 session were also introduced in the function by the respective Faculty Deans. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abu Yousuf, Dean of Faculty of Civil Engineering; Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmad, Dean of Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Ariful Islam, Dean of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Prof. Dr. Shibendra Shekher Sikder, Director (Students’ Welfare) spoke particularly on the rules and regulations of this university and gave many advices to the newcomers and asked the students to concentrate on their study during their stay in KUET. Registrar, G M Shahidul Alam delivered the welcome speech. Public Relations Officer (PRO), Monoj Kumar Majumder represented the program. All Institute Directors, Heads, Directors, Provosts, Teachers, High Officials, fresh students & their Guardians were present in the function.

    At the end of the orientation program, the blood grouping activities organized by the KUET Voluntary Blood Donation Society "Dreams". Activities of BNCC and "No Drugs, No Ragging, No Smoking, No Waste Littering" activities were inaugurated by the honorable Vice-Chancellor to attach newly admitted students with these activities.
