Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) has celebrated its 18th Founding Anniversary and the "University Day 2021" on 01 September 2021, maintaining the health safety guidelines amid the corona pandemic. The Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain inaugurated the university day program as the Chief Guest by hoisting the National Flag and releasing the colorful balloons. Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Chairman of “University Day 2021” Celebration Committee, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abu Yousuf presided over the function and hoisted the university flag accompanied by all other Deans, Registrar & Director (students' welfare). After the inauguration program, the Chief Guest planted tree beside the Liberation War Sculpture 'Durbar Bangla' and released fishes in the pond near the Vice-Chancellor's Banglow of KUET.

To mark the day, a discussion meeting (Online) was also held on 01 September 2021 at 11.00 am. The Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain spoke at the function as the Chief Guest. Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Prof. Dr. K. M.
