Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) observed the 46th martyrdom anniversary of the greatest Bengali for all time, the Architect of Independent Bangladesh, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day on August 15, 2021 with due solemnity and the highest respect. Marking the day, early in the morning, the National Flag was flown at half-mast and black flag was flown at the administrative building, Vice-Chancellor's Banglow and all the residential halls of student. At 09:15 AM, The Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain paid homage to Bangabandhu by offering the Floral wreaths in front of the sculpture of Bangabandhu at the "Bangabandhu Square" on behalf of the University. Later, Teachers’ Association, Director (Students' Welfare), Officers Association, Fazlul Haque Hall, Lalan Shah Hall, Khanjahan Ali Hall, Dr. M A Rashid Hall, Rokeya Hall, Amar Ekushy Hall, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall, Bangladesh Chattra League, Karmokarta Somity (Up-gradation), Employee Association (3rd Class), Employee Association (4th Class), Master Roll Employee Association, Gourob '71, Khulna Engineering University School & Unmesh Govt. Primary School placed the floral wreaths in front the sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the "Bangabandhu Square".

An online discussion meeting was also held at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) at 10:00 AM. The Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain spoke as the chief guest at the discussion meeting. Acting Director (Students’ Welfare) Prof. Dr. Ismail Saifullah presided over the function. Dean of Civil Engineering Faculty Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abu Yousuf; Dean of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Faculty Prof. Dr. K. M. Azharul Hasan; Dean of Mechanical Engineering Faculty Prof. Md. Golam Kader, Registrar (In-charge), Engr. Md. Anisur Rahman Bhuiyan were took part in the online discussion meeting as the Special Guests.

Before the discussion meeting article were presented by Prof. Dr. Shibendra Shekher Sikder, Department of Physics & Prof. Dr. Pallab Kumar Choudhury, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Students were also took part in the online Cultural events. After Asr prayer, a Doa Mahfil was arranged at the KUET central mosque for the departed soul of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members assassinated on 15 August, 1975.
