With deep respects to the martyrs of 1952 Language Movement, marking 'Amar Ekushey, the Language Martyrs Day’ and International Mother Language Day observed at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET). On 21 February at 12:01 AM, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain paid homage by placing a wreath at the Central Shahid Minar at KUET on behalf of the University. Later, Teachers Association, Director (Students' Welfare), Officers Association, Provosts and students of different Residential Halls (Fazlul Haque Hall, Lalan Shah Hall, KhanJahan Ali Hall, Dr. M.A. Rashid Hall, Rokeya Hall, Amar Ekushey Hall, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall), Bangladesh Chattra League, Karmokarta Samity (Up-gradation), 3rd Class Karmachari Samiti, 4th Class Karmachari Samiti, Master role Karmachari Samiti, Gourob'71, Shore-Oa, KUET Theater, Drupodi, Kalpapat, Dream, TRY, OKS, Diploma Engineers Samity, Pride Security Services, Technical Training Center Khulna, Greater Mymensingh Association, Swadhikar Foundation Fhulbarigate, various organizations, educational institutions and individuals placed the floral wreaths at the memorial. On 21 February early morning, the black flags were hoisted and the National Flag was flown at half-mast hoisted atop all important buildings and residential halls in the University campus.

In the memory of the martyrs with a one-minute silence a Discussion Meeting was held at the 10:30 Morning. Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain took part in the discussion meeting as the Chief Guest while the Director of Students’ Welfare Prof. Dr. Ismail Saifullah presided over the program. Dean of CE Faculty Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Dean of EEE Faculty Prof. Dr. K. M. Azharul Hasan, Dean of ME Faculty Prof. Md. Golam Kader and Registrar of the University Engr. Md. Anisur Rahman Bhuiyan was taking part in the discussion meeting as the Special guest. Among others, Professor of EEE Department Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmad, Professor of URP Department Dr. Md. Mustafa Saroar, Professor of ECE Department Dr. Pallab Kumar Choudhury, Professor of CE Department Dr. Kazi ABM Mohiuddin, Professor of CE Department Dr. Sajal Kumar Adhikary, Associate Professor of ME Department Dr. Md. Helal-An-Nahiyan, General Secretary of Officers Association Engr. Md. Ruhul Amin, General Secretary of 3rd Class Karmachary Samiti Md. Hasib Sardar took part in the discussion meeting.

After Asr prayer, a special Doa was held at the University Central Mosque seeking divine blessings for the martyrs and also peace and happiness for the country.
