Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) observed the 102nd birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day 2022 by holding extensive programmes on 17 March 2022. The recitation of the Holy Quran was concluded at 6:10 AM on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
On the occasion, The Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain paid tributes to Father of the Nation by placing wreaths at the sculpture of Bangabandhu at “Bangabandhu Square” in Campus at 9:00 AM along with Deans, Registrar, Institute Directors, Heads of Departments, Directors, Hall Provosts and High Officials. After that, Teachers Association, Director (Students Welfare), Officers Association, Fazlul Haque Hall, Lalan Shah Hall, Khan Jahan Ali Hall, Dr. M. A. Rashid Hall, Rokeya Hall, Amar Ekushey Hall, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall, Bangladesh Chhatra League KUET Branch, Officers Association, Employees Association (Class III), Employees Association (Class IV), Master Roll Employees Association, Gaurab 71 and KUET Schools paid tribute by placing wreaths at the sculpture of Bangabandhu.
Later, a Discussion Meeting was held at 9:30 AM at the University Auditorium. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain was participated in the discussion as the Chief Guest while Director (Student Welfare) Prof. Dr. Ismail Saifullah was presided over the discussion meeting. Dean of Civil Engineering Faculty Prof. Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Dean of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Faculty Prof. Dr. K. M. Azharul Hasan, Dean of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Prof. Md. Golam Kader, Registrar (In-Charge)Engr. Md. Anisur Rahman Bhuiyan participated in the discussion as Special Guest. Among others, President of Teachers Association Dr. Md. Helal-An-Nahiyan, General Secretary Dr. Md. Abdul Hasib, Professor of Civil Engineering Department Dr. Sajal Kumar Adhikary, General Secretary of Officers Association Engr. Md. Ruhul Amin, General Secretary of Employees Association (3rd Class) Md. Hasib Sardar took part in the discussion.
Among other programs, composition and painting competition, beautiful handwriting and scheduled speech, Describe Bangabandhu's life story etc. were held by the participation of the students of KUET Schools.
A Joyful Rally was also held at 08:45 AMwith the participation of teachers and students of KUET Schools which was led by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain. Various aspects of the life style of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and cultural program related to the daywere held at 10:30 AM. Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Quazi Sazzad Hossain distributed prize among the winners in the function.
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children's Day 2022, various associations and organizations including the Teachers Association of KUET carried out various programs.
Besides, after Asr prayer Doa Mahfil was also held at the Central Mosque of the University on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
