With solemn respect and honour the 92th Birthday of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children Day was observed at KUET on 17 March, 2012. The University authority celebrate the day in a befitting manner with elaborated programmes such as recitation, essay writing, hand writing and drawing competition for the student of Khulna Engineering University School, KUET Unmesh Primary School and KUET Model School. Programmes were started at 7:30 a.m. At 9:00 a.m. teachers, students, officers, employees, teachers & students of the schools gathered and brought out a colorful procession led by the Prof. Dr. A N M Mizanur Rahman, Dean of ME and the VC in charge. He placed floral wreath on behalf of the University at the portrait of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Central Shaheed Miner of KUET. Later, Assistant Director (Students’ Welfare) Mr. Md. Selim Hossain, Headmaster of Khulna Engineering University School and KUET Unmesh Primary School Mr. T M Sanaur Rahman and Mr. Md. Akber Hossain and others respectively placed floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
At 10:00 a.m. a discussion meeting was also held at the university auditorium with Assistant Director (Students’ Welfare) Mr. Md. Selim Hossain in the chair. Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor (in-charge) was present as the Chief Guest. Among others Professor of ME Dr. Naseem Ahmed, Registrar of KUET Mr. Md. Abdur Rouf, Head Master of Khulna Engineering University School Mr. T M Sanaur Rahman, Deputy Registrar Mr. G M Shahidul Alam, Librarian (in-charge) Mr. Md. Akkas Uddin Pathan, Assistant Section Officer Mr. Subrata Kumar Mondol, Headmaster (in-charge) of KUET Unmesh Primary School Mr. Md. Akber Hossain. Headmaster of Khulna Engineering University School (primary) Md. Bodiar Rahman, among school students Ayesha Akter Mou, Tamim Khan Pathan, spoke in the meeting. After Asr prayer a milad-mahfil was arranged at the KUET central mosque to pray for the departed soul of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
