Uprising the slogan “ Juktir taane...... shikol vangar ahobane” a two-day long Inter-Department Debate Festival successfully held at KUET respectively on 6 and 7 July, 2012. The competition took place at the auditorium of KUET. KUET Debating Society (KDS) organized the debate competition with the assistance of DSW office of the university. A total of 11 group (7 Bangali, 4 English) participated in the Debate Competition. The Department of CSE (Computer Science & Engineering) and the Department of EEE (Electrical & Electronic Engineering) have been honoured as the Champion respectively in Bengali & English part while the Department of ME ( Mechanical Engineering ) and the Deprtment of CSE  have been rewarded as the runner-up respectively in Bangali & English part.

The VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir who is also the founder moderator of KDS, was present there as the Chief Guest. He enjoyed the final competition and awarded prizes among the winners. Shuheli Shaila Ahmed, Assistant Professor of Humanities Department presided over the ceremony while Nipa Debnath, Lecturer of Physics Department was present as the Special Guest. Sharmin Sultana Tonni, president of KDS, was also present there. Earlier Dr. Alamgir inaugurated the competition yesterday on 6 July at 10:30 a.m. at the same place. Teachers & students from various Departments, related officers and others were also present there.
