With solemn respect the 97th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day 2017 was observed at KUET. At 03:30 p.m. On 16 March, 2016 a discussion meeting was held at the university auditorium. VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir was present as the Chief Guest while Director (Students’ Welfare) Prof. Dr. Sobahan Mia in the chair. Dean of CE faculty Prof. Dr. Md. Mahbub Alam, Dean of EEE faculty Prof. Dr. Md. Abdur Rafiq, President of Teachers Association Prof. Dr. Shibendra Shekher Sikder, Registrar (In-Charge) G.M. Shahidul Alam were addressed as Special Guest. Monoj Kumar Majumder, Section Officer (Grade-1) was anchoring the program. Among others Head of URP Department Prof. Dr. Md. Mustafa Saroar, General Secretary of Officers Association Engr. Hossain Mohammad Arshad, General Secretary of Karmochary Samity (3rd Class) Md. Imrul Islam, Vice-President of Bangabandhu Karmachary Parishad Md. Rabiul Islam Shohag were spoke in the meeting. On 17 March at 7:30 p.m. Recitation, essay writing, hand writing and drawing competition held for the student of Khulna Engineering University School (primary & secondary section) & Govt. Unmesh Primary School. At 9 a.m. teachers, students, officers, employees, teachers & students of the schools gathered and brought out a colourful procession led by the Vice-Chancellor of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir. Vice-Chancellor placed floral wreath on behalf of the University at the portrait of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Central Shaheed Miner of KUET. Later, Teachers Association, Director (Students’ Welfare), Officers Association, Provosts and students of different Halls, Chattra Leage, Karmachari Samiti(3rd Class), Karmachari Samiti(4th Class), Bangabandhu Karmachari Parishad, Master roll Karmachary Samity, KUET School and other organizations of KUET placed floral wreath. At 10:00 a.m. Cultural programmes with the perform of the students of KUET School and Prize given ceremony held at the auditorium. VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir distributed prizes among the winners as the Chief Guest. After Asr prayer a milad-mahfil was arranged at the KUET central mosque to pray for the departed soul of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Moreover, at 10:30 AM Teachers Association arranged a discussion meeting at teacher’s club. VC of KUET Prof. Dr. Muhammed Alamgir was the chief guest. President of Teachers Association Prof. Dr. Shibendra Shekher Sikder presided over the meeting. General Secretary of Teachers Association Prof. Dr. Sobahan Mia was anchoring the meeting. In addition, at 08:00 AM Bangabandhu Karmachari Parishad, Karmachari Samiti (3rd Class), Karmachari Samiti (4th Class), Master roll Karmachary Samity, cutting cakes in observance of the 97th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
