The experienced faculties are dedicated to undergraduate teaching of physics in different engineering departments. They are working hard to make a foundation or base to develop the skills and knowledge of the engineering students. Physics is a basic subject without which engineering students cannot apply their skills in practical life, research and development.The Department is offering three post graduate programs for both full time and part time students. The duration of M. Phil. Program is 2 years for full- time students and 3 years for part-time students. M. Phil. Students are required to complete 24-credit hours of theoretical courses and 24 credit hours of thesis in order to achieve his/her degree. M.Sc. students need to complete 18 credit hours of theoretical courses and 18 credit hours of thesis. Entry requirement for M.Sc. Students, candidates must have obtained a 4 years B. Sc. (Hon's) or an equivalent degree in Physics with at least a CGPA of 2.65 in the scale of 4.00 or its equivalent from any recognized University/Institution in the relevant field/branch and must have obtained at least a GPA 3.50 in the scale of 5.00 or its equivalent both in SSC and HSC levels. Ora candidate having B.Sc. Engineering degree with good academic records from relevant field /branch can also apply for this program. Application requirements for M. Phil. Program, a candidate must have obtained an M. Sc. Degree in Physics or equivalent degree in the relevant field/branch with at least Second Class /CGPA of 2.65 in the scale of 4.00 in both B.Sc. (Hon's /Pass ) and M.Sc. with good previous academic records. Ora candidate having B.Sc. Engineering degree with good academic record from relevant field/branch is also eligible for the M. Phil. program. For Ph. D. program a candidate must have obtained an M. Sc. in Physics/ M.Sc. Eng./ M. Eng. with 4 years B.Sc. (Hon's/M. Phil.) or its equivalent degree with good academic records in the relevant field/branch of Science/ Eng. or its equivalent from any recognized University/ Institution.
